- Installing and removing temporary access systems, rigging and safety equipment required for rope access work, adhering to strict safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Executing a variety of maintenance tasks such as cleaning, painting, welding and mechanical repairs on nuclear facility components and structures while suspended at heights.
- Conducting non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques, such as ultrasonic testing (UT) or magnetic particle testing (MPT), to assess the integrity of critical components and detect flaws or defects.

- Specialist Expertise: Aim to obtain proficiency then mastery of specialist equipment and techniques, including rigging, anchoring, ascending and descending systems, and high-altitude rescue techniques.
- Fitness: Agility, strength, endurance and strong physical fitness are required to perform rope access work safely and effectively, while simultaneously carrying out tasks such as manual labour, equipment handling, and tool operation.
- Critical Thinking: Creative problem-solving skills will be required to address challenges encountered during rope access operations and execute tasks efficiently in dynamic and demanding environments; this is all whilst adhering to safety protocols and procedures.

How do I become a Rope Access Technician?
Rope Access Training
