Map of Pakistani Nuclear Sites

Pakistan relies on nuclear energy as a key component of its electricity generation, with six operational nuclear reactors contributing around 10% of the country’s total energy supply. The Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) oversees nuclear power development, while the Pakistan Nuclear Regulatory Authority (PNRA) ensures safety standards. China has been a major partner in Pakistan’s nuclear energy expansion, supplying reactors and technology. Due to Pakistan’s non-signatory status in the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), it faces restrictions on nuclear trade. Looking ahead, Pakistan aims to expand its nuclear capacity significantly by 2050 to address energy security concerns. Find out where the country’s nuclear sites are located, and what goes on at each of them, on our interactive map of Pakistani nuclear sites.

Quick Guide to using the Map of Pakistani Nuclear Sites
