Map of Czech Nuclear Sites

Nuclear energy plays a significant role in Czechia’s power generation, accounting for nearly 40% of the country’s electricity production. The nation operates six nuclear reactors across two main plants: Dukovany, established in the 1980s, and Temelín, which became operational in 2002. Managed by ČEZ Group, these facilities are vital for ensuring energy independence and reducing reliance on fossil fuels. The Czech government continues to support nuclear energy development, focusing on sustainability and meeting carbon reduction targets. Plans are in motion to expand capacity, with additional reactors under consideration, reflecting nuclear energy’s importance in Czechia’s long-term energy strategy. Find out where the country’s nuclear sites are located, and what goes on at each of them, on our interactive map of Czech nuclear sites.
