Nuclear vs Other Energy Sources
There are lots of alternatives in the energy generation world. Find out how nuclear compares to both renewables and non-renewables.
Global consumption of energy has been rising continuously for decades and is showing no sign of slowing.
The world as a whole is on a quest to reduce our reliance on non-renewables like coal, oil, and gas. There are several factors which make nuclear an attractive option in this endeavour.
Nuclear energy is amongst the safest of all energy sources. It’s death rate from accidents and due to air pollution is only beaten marginally by solar.
Moreover, it also sits amongst the cleanest, having greenhouse gas emissions lower than any other source.
On top of that nuclear power is extremely compact. A nuclear power station uses less land per MWh than any other source by a large margin. This includes land use across its entire lifecycle, from mining to waste storage.
